The Coupes dramatic styling especially when finished in the colours of the 1960‘s Daytona Cobra Coupes clearly pays homage to these cars but as time goes on the GTS Coupe will stand on its own as a 1990‘s icon and great design from this period much as the Ferrari GTO is of the great GT cars of the 1960‘s. Marked out on the track as a car to beat with FIA Championships in 1997/98/99 &2000, GT2 wins at 24 hrs of Le-Mans in 1998/99&2000,plus many others it has become one of the most successful GT car in history, so its no pretender
So what's it like to drive? With only around 30 in the UK few are qualified to describe what it is like to drive & live with (GTS's can be hired at supercar fun days) but as a active member of the Viper Club U.K I can expell a few myths. For general servicing and repairs its cheap to run ,a full service at my local Chrysler dealer costs between £106 for 6 month service/£250 for 12 month service. Not a car bought for economy it will do around 15 mpg around town but on a run in 6th gear at 1400 rpm (70-80 mph) high 20‘s are possible. The size of the car takes some getting used (though not as wide as a 355 Ferrari), but the looks you get wherever you go don't! The pointing fingers, waves and smiles you get from most who see a Viper plus the many people who want to chat to you about the car, make it
